We’re Off Again!

Aug 31st, 2010 by Randy | 0

Dear Fellow Conservatives:

Well, we’re out of the frying pan, now into the fire! The final leg of the race for 22nd District State Representative is underway. Thanks to your support, we’re going to make it through!

First, we are grateful to everyone whose support has brought us to this point. Thanks to the generous gifts and hard work you invested in our campaign, we were able to win the primary. Words cannot express how much we appreciated your votes, hard work and dedication. We will continue to work hard to build our team momentum and support across the district to achieve victory in November!

I am glad we share the same vision for the future of Missouri.

Together, we will build a Missouri with a strong economy that produces quality jobs for our communities. We will work to eliminate the burdens on small businesses, lower taxes and fight for competitively priced energy.

Together, we will defend the unborn, the right to keep and bear arms, the Constitution and Biblical family values.

Together, we will work to ensure our local farmers and agribusinesses are equipped to compete in a global market.

And, together, we will build a strong education system that provides our children with the tools they need to compete and succeed in this 21st Century world.

We will work with you to preserve the conservative values that made this state and nation great.

Your generous support allowed us to communicate that message to the primary voters. Now, we must bring that vision to a wider audience. We must reach more homes with this hope for a greater Missouri. Then, in January, we will take this message to the state capital.

As costly and time-consuming as the primary election was, the general election will be even more difficult and more expensive.

We have a strong and aggressive campaign plan ready to go for the general. We have the right message; a positive message that has already resonated with the voters. We have a motivated team of volunteers who are committed to going all the way to keep our drive alive.

Now, we need the resources to make our plans a reality

As exciting and humbling as this primary victory was, we cannot afford to let up now. We want to see our efforts and your initial investments do what they were meant to do – take us to victory.

Many of you have already given a generous gift. However, in order for us to win in the general, I need your help again plus the support of many first time supporters before going into the November election.

I need it to get our message out.  I have to buy thousands of dollars in radio and newspaper ads as well as implement an aggressive mail plan.

I have met with my campaign team and we have put together a budget to get us across the finish line in November. Anything worth fighting for will cost us. So I am asking if you believe in the Missouri we hope for to please make a sacrificial gift. It will make a huge difference in the days ahead!  Whether it is $10, $25, $100, $500 or more, any and everything puts us a step closer to winning this election.

I understand this is a lot to ask; but, whatever you can afford to give will make the difference between victory and defeat in November.

Again, thank you for all you have done to help our campaign and to build a stronger Missouri. I look forward to continuing our work together to change this state for the better. I would be honored to serve as your state representative.

Sincerely,

Randy Asbury

P.S. We cannot let all our work go to waste. The general election is going to be harder than anything we have seen so far.  Every dollar counts! Please take a second to help elect a conservative in the 22nd District again.  Thank you for your support!

Missourians United for Life Endorsement

Jul 22nd, 2010 by Randy | 0

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: July 21, 2010

Asbury Endorsed by Missourians United for Life

Higbee, MO – Missourians United for Life (MUL) has endorsed Randy Asbury in his bid to become 22nd District State Representative for Randolph, Chariton and Southern Macon counties.

MUL is a statewide, nonpartisan organization which opposes abortion, embryonic stem cell research, euthanasia and other attacks on life.

MUL also opposes tax dollars going to abortion providers like Planned Parenthood who seek access to schools and government social service providers.

“I am pleased to receive this endorsement from an organization which values life at all stages as I do,” stated Asbury.

“No action should be legally allowable if its purpose is to take the life of an innocent human being or destroy embryonic stem cells.”

In addition to his strong position on life, Asbury believes putting hard working Missourians back to work must be the state’s number one priority.

He will work to eliminate the burdens on small businesses, lower taxes and fight for competitively priced energy.

“Agriculture and small businesses are the linchpins of Missouri’s economy and I will fight for the economic interests of farmers and businesses,” stated Asbury.

Asbury has served as the Randolph County Western District Associate Commissioner since 2007. In addition, Asbury advocates for the economic interests of agriculture, navigation and utility interests in his role as executive director of the Coalition to Protect the Missouri River.

Asbury has also been endorsed by the Missouri Right to Life Political Action Committee.

Issue Discussions

Jobs and Economic Development

Job creation and economic development must be Missouri’s top priority. Economic growth and job creation are a direct result of low taxes, limited government regulations, fiscal restraint and reliable and competitively priced energy.

Small businesses are the linchpin of the U.S. economy and their success is best achieved when government least interferes with their efforts. Free enterprise will be the answer to the economic woes facing Missouri and our Nation. Opportunities will abound as our Nation embraces capitalism over government anew.

“It is not my intention to do away with government. It is rather to make it work — work with us, not over us; stand by our side, not ride on our back. Government can and must provide opportunity, not smother it; foster productivity, not stifle it.” – Ronald Reagan -First Inaugural Address, January 20, 1981

“We who live in free market societies believe that growth, prosperity and ultimately human fulfillment, are created from the bottom up, not the government down. Only when the human spirit is allowed to invent and create, only when individuals are given a personal stake in deciding economic policies and benefiting from their success — only then can societies remain economically alive, dynamic, progressive, and free. Trust the people. This is the one irrefutable lesson of the entire postwar period contradicting the notion that rigid government controls are essential to economic development.” – Ronald Reagan -September 29, 1981

“I am for a government rigorously frugal and simple. Were we directed from Washington when to sow, when to reap, we should soon want bread.” – Thomas Jefferson

“We don’t have a trillion-dollar debt because we haven’t taxed enough; we have a trillion-dollar debt because we spend too much.” – Ronald Reagan – Address to National Association of Realtors, March 28, 1982

Life

The sanctity of human life begins at the moment of fertilization. No action should be legally allowable if its purpose is to take the life of an innocent human being.  The need to protect the unborn has never been more important.

“This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him.” – Deuteronomy 30:19

“There are six things the LORD hates…hands that shed innocent blood.” – Proverbs 6:16-17

Second Amendment

The right to keep and bear arms is a constitutional right which must be upheld. The Founding Fathers understood the importance of a well armed citizenry. This right is as important today, if not more important, than it was at the signing of the U.S. Constitution.

“I ask, Sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people. To disarm the people is the best and most effectual way to enslave them.” – George Mason, Co-author of the Second Amendment during Virginia’s Convention to Ratify the Constitution, 1788

Agriculture

Agriculture is the heartbeat of Missouri’s economy. As Missouri’s number one economic driver, agriculture must be empowered to grow and produce in an economic environment focused on limited government regulations, low taxes, fiscal restraint and reliable and competitively priced energy.

Missouri agriculture must be protected from nuisance lawsuits and property rights attacks. Infrastructure for truck, rail and water transportation must continually be improved to enhance Missouri’s ability to competitively engage domestic and foreign markets.

“Cultivators of the earth are the most valuable citizens. They are the most vigorous, the most independent, the most virtuous and they are tied to their country and wedded to its liberty and interests by the most lasting bands.” – Thomas Jefferson, Letter to John Jay (Aug. 23, 1785)

“I know of no pursuit in which more real and important services can be rendered to any country than by improving its agriculture, its breed of useful animals, and other branches of a husbandman’s cares.” – George Washington

State Sovereignty

The federal government continues to overreach its constitutionally delegated powers. The Tenth Amendment has been and is being regularly abused as was the case with the recent national healthcare reform legislation. Missourians must take a strong stance against ongoing sovereignty abuses.

“I consider the foundation of the Constitution as laid on this ground: That “all powers not delegated to the United States, by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States or to the people.” [10th Amendment] To take a single step beyond the boundaries thus specifically drawn around the powers of Congress is to take possession of a boundless field of power, no longer susceptible of any definition.” – Thomas Jefferson: National Bank Opinion, 1791

Dear Friends

Feb 5th, 2010 by admin | 0

On January 13, I announced my candidacy for 22nd District State Representative for the August 3rd Republican Primary. As a candidate for State Representative, I pledge to work hard for the residents of Randolph, Chariton, and Southern Macon counties and use the same intensity and proven leadership skills I have utilized as Randolph County Commissioner since January 2007.

When Governor Matt Blunt appointed me to that position, I understood it would require a sacrifice of time, a commitment of energy, and a dedication to public service. My family and I have met those challenges.

The first three years as commissioner have quickly passed. I have combined collaborative, fiscal management, and decision-making skills with a goal and team-oriented approach to create progress for Randolph County. Every minute of my public service, including each contact with friends, neighbors, and the citizens of this district, has been enjoyable and personally rewarding.

As you know, successful campaigns require many volunteers and sufficient funding. To win a campaign is expensive! I need your help to stand for the conservative values on which our Nation was founded, foremost of which I believe include reverence for a loving God and Savior along with personal responsibility and hard work. These are the linchpins of Missouri’s future. I am committed to win this seat so I can continue to protect conservative social and fiscal values. I BELIEVE…

  • Life is a gift from God. Life exists in embryonic stem cells. Abortion is wrong. I am pro-life.
  • Marriage was God-designed for one man and one woman committed to each other for a lifetime. Children are our heritage and family policy should always strengthen the family.
  • Our 2nd Amendment rights are more important now than ever before. The right to keep and bear arms is non-negotiable.
  • Economic development policies which enhance our economy, provide for more jobs, increase family income, and protect private property rights are a must.
  • Agriculture and business entities must be provided with the tools needed to thrive in today’s competitive and global economy.
  • Less is more when it comes to government – Less taxes, less regulation, and less intrusion into our lives.
  • Our children are our future – their education should not be jeopardized by inadequate funding or unnecessary regulation.

These values will ensure that the 22nd District will remain a great place to live, work, and raise a family.

Together we can continue to uphold the conservative and principled values of the 22nd District. I ask your support of this belief and respectfully request your vote and the contribution of your time and money to ensure a successful campaign. All donations make a difference and will be needed to earn the privilege of serving as your State Representative.

I am confident in my abilities to represent your interests in a professional manner in the State Legislature. My proven leadership, integrity, vision, and experience can ensure that conservative social and fiscal values remain strong in this district.

I thank you in advance for your help and financial support. I look forward to hearing from you and serving as your 22nd District State Representative.

Sincerely,

Randy C. Asbury
